VAPPS Municipal Partner Program

This document outlines the benefits of becoming a Municipal Partner with the Victoria Arts Promotion and Preservation Society. 

For a small annual contribution to support the operations of the society, a municipal partner gets access to a wide range of valuable human resources, statistical data and promotional opportunities.

Benefits

Statistics Engine Access

Our database contains extensive, valuable data on arts organizations, artists,  resources, venues, and events within each municipality. 

Municipal partners receive access to a special interface that allows them to generate customized reports on events, organizations and venues within their municipal boundaries. 

 

Some examples of this data are:

  • Number of events, broken down by venue type, neighborhood, free vs paid, all-ages vs 19+, indoor vs outdoor etc

  • Number of arts organizations broken down by purpose, neighborhood etc. 

  • Full venue inventory, with details on accessibility, technical amenities, capacities, square footage, rental rates and number of events

 

These reports as well as raw data can be exported in CSV format for further analysis. Contact info and any other personal data will be removed from the CSV export to prevent privacy issues. 

Included Administration, Promotion and Research Hours

VAPPS has a skilled an knowledgeable administration and marketing staff person who is available to help with a wide range of tasks like:

 

  • Listing events in our calendar, as well as other local arts calendars and media outlets. 

  • Listing calls to artists, jobs, grants and other opportunities in our opportunities engine and beyond.

  • Researching topics of interest and ensuring data is available to the municipality and its citizens through the sites’ public, and statistical interfaces.

  • Designing, sharing and promoting content on social media

 

Each partner receives 12 hours of support for free with their membership.

Preferential Rate on Additional Hours

For larger projects beyond the included free hours, partners receive a 25% discount on the hourly rate for access to our skilled and knowledgeable staff. 

Included Advertising Credit

Our advertising system provides the ability to prominently feature large poster images in high profile areas of the sites to an audience of local artists, presenters and fans. Everybody on the site is either a member of the arts community, or someone who is specifically looking for arts events. Advertising with us is a great way to get the word out to the most influential members of the arts community. 

Partners receive $250 of advertising credit per year, enough for 200,000 impressions of event posters. This can be spread between up to 5 different event promotion or awareness campaigns. 

Annual Report Presentation

Each municipal partner will receive an annual in person or virtual presentation of a highlight of artistic activity in their borders from both a VAPPS board member and the admin staff member who has the most knowledge of that geographic area.

This presentation will include a highlight of some of the key data points available from the stats engine, a report on trends, notable venues, resources or organizations and other information gleaned during the year.

Access To Custom Development

One of the strengths of our platform is that it is extremely customizable and is constantly evolving to serve the needs of the community. The main architect of the system is a board member and is available to make changes and improvements as the need arrives. 

As a partner, you will have direct input on changes and improvements you would like to see. Custom projects and alterations (with board approval) can be made at a very affordable preferential rate. For example, maybe you’d like a custom report generated or you’d like new data points added to the database. Our team will be happy to work with you. 

Acknowledgment on Supporters page

The municipal logo will be included in the highest tier on our Supporters page, which will be linked from the footer of every page of the site as well as the menu. 

Cost

The cost of being a Municipal Partner is $1000 per year.
